From a complete multi-function complex to a single cubicle we provide the services you need to ensure the best possible results for your project from start to finish. Our depth of experience in a wide range of specialist applications, technical knowledge of materials, design, management, and installation expertise are at your disposal for a full service or to complement your own requirements. Whether we work on every detail of your project or just supply advice or materials, we aim to help realise your concept efficiently, achieving and hopefully exceeding your expectations at all times.
Ideas & Advice
Due to the unique possibilities offered by polymer materials and finishes we find the best results are often achieved by involving us at the earliest stages of your project. We can help with choice of materials, colours, jointing techniques and trim. Considerations of function, usage, safety, regulations, feel, durability and ease of maintenance. Substrate preparation, adhesives, forming, special features, integration and sealing. Time spent on these decisions at the outset, together with knowledge of your budget and timing requirements, will always be rewarded by the best results. We can provide samples and suggestions in response to your phone call or email enquiry. You can visit our showroom or better still arrange a site visit from one of our experts. Our advice is independent and free (though a small fee may apply to cover site visit costs).
Design, Planning, & Preview
Your design starts with anything from a simple dimensioned sketch to a set of Architect’s drawings and specifications. This will indicate the surfaces (floors, walls, stairs, ceilings) to be clad, any features (doors, windows, pillars, ducts, etc.) and the type of finish (or functionality) required. Actual materials will be suggested as in ‘ideas’ above, then quantities, labour and other costs are calculated. This service is ‘part of the job’ and is usually free of charge.
While all of this detailed technical planning is essential for good results, another purpose of design is to help define how the finished interior will look. Usually, this is gauged from samples and sight of existing similar installations. Where a more accurate visualization is required, especially of alternative colours and finishes, we can produce realistic 3D computer images (and animated ‘walkthroughs’) of your project showing the actual materials to be used.
Specification & Schedule
Once you have approved the design we identify the specific materials and grades to suit the function (durability, resistance, etc.) and any building or safety regulations that may apply. The best jointing system for the job (strip, seal or weld) and cove mouldings for floor and ceiling transitions are chosen then quantities are calculated.
A schedule of work is prepared to fit in with your requirements. One advantage of of cladding is the speed of installation but considerations of preparation, material availability, order of work and drying time can be important. Also, any extra building, electrical, plumbing or other services, by ourselves or others, must be coordinated.
Quotation & Ordering
Having calculated the exact materials and labour required we can then provide a firm quotation for your approval. Of course, for smaller ‘standard’ rooms we can often give an initial guide quote on your first enquiry but this is obviously still subject to a survey and detailed planning to avoid surprises. Once you are happy with our quotation, after any adjustments if required, we can accept your order and proceed with organising the materials and people to complete your project according to the agreed schedule.
Coordinating Trade Services
In addition to surface finishes, we can provide metalwork, carpentry, building, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other facilities that may be required for your project. We work to a high standard with reliable, experienced tradesmen familiar with the requirements of PVC technology to help provide the highest quality finish. Alternatively, we will co-ordinate with you or your contractors to achieve the most efficient installation schedule and groundwork for the best possible finished results.
Preparation & Installation
One advantage of PVC cladding is the potential speed of installation, especially for large, unbroken areas. Detailing and sealing around doors, windows, and other features can be more involved and time-consuming. However, with effective planning, proper preparation, and clear workspace our skilled installers can produce impressive finished results very quickly. The key to success is the preparation of the substrate. PVC cladding can be fixed to any relatively sound surface including plaster, old tiles, concrete, and even raw brick or blockwork. If required this can be sealed and smoothed with a resin or other compound.
A laser level is used to mark a datum line around the room then installation proceeds. Sheets are cut to size and openings, thermoformed to fit around corners and edges, have adhesive applied, are carefully positioned against pre-located joining strips then have pressure applied, all in one continuous operation. The joints are completed with strips, sealant, or welds. Floors, if not pre-existing, must first be leveled or graded with a screed compound, allowing for drainage as necessary. When dry the covering is applied welded if required and sealed. Finally, a full inspection is made and any ‘snags’ or imperfections corrected.
Cleaning & Maintenance
The materials used carry a manufacturer’s minimum 10-year guarantee and a life expectancy of at least 25 years under normal conditions. They are impervious to all common sources of dirt or contamination and can usually be simply wiped clean with mild detergent. Abrasives or solvents should generally not be used but pressure hose cleaning can be if necessary. We can supply a formal cleaning and maintenance schedule for your specific installation and we are always available for advice and solutions to any unusual problems. This includes expert repair of any accidental damage.
While traditional finishes like plaster, paint, tiles, and concrete are familiar to most people, lining an interior with ‘plastic’ has been reserved for more specialized applications until recently. Of course, vinyl wallpaper, floor tiles, and rolls (and their ancestor ‘lino’) have been around for decades. As the benefits of heavy-duty PVC became more widely appreciated producers have responded by introducing ranges of cladding and flooring to satisfy the exacting demands of modern interiors. We are an independent supplier and installer of these products from all major manufacturers including:
